I will be talking about basically nothing but crap, hence the title: The Use of Rhetoric to Obscure the Total Lack of Content.

Cosfest is just around the corner! And I can't help but feel excited! XD Although I won't be cosplaying, but I sure as hell will be heckling other cosplayers! Ah ha ha ha ha ha! Nahh...this will be a good time to actually SEE what's going on at Cosfest.

Watched two movied of late, Shrek 3 and Pirates Of The Carribean-At World's End. Shrek 3 was funny, safe to say. One line i liked very much:

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down thy golden EXTENSIONS.

And seeing Snow white, sleeping beauty and the rest turn from pretty princesses to fighting queens? oh my god...my stomach hurts...

I think I need a break.

I think the number of times I cried from January to now is more than the times I cried totaled up for the past two years. The pressure is really starting to get to me.

I realise that I'm depending on a few things that keep me happy: My friends (Namely HL, SS, C, P , Jkkh, Stjh as well as the welcomed banter between me and my aniki), my team (They never fail to amuse me, though I slog like hell to keep them happy), my sister (She cheers me up with her dramatical antics), my cosplay activities and good food.

Well, to all those not listed, I thank you too. Thank you for keeping me from falling into depression. I shall do my best to be sane and happy. =)

Cosfest is at the 7th and 15th of July! Can't wait...the countdown has begun...I'm looking forward to attending another cosplay event again...this time, I will be able to see CLEARLY whats going on...never managed to in the past because I walked around without my specs...I really have to learn how to wear contacts...or just go for LASIK.

My exams have started, and I'm down under because of all the studying. This is one critical year for me. I hope I can excel...oh and to H, I'm not gonna lose out to you in English. Even though you, me and N have tied for the first place last year, I have no intentions of giving my title away. May the best man win.

Happy 20th post! This is nuts...haha...even though I have this blog for so long already, I post with such long intermissions in between that it makes 20 posts a number worth commemorating.

School is burgeoning heavier and heavier on us...I look forward to the weekends every week...the promise of sleep and rest never fail to steel me onwards to brave the searing fires of math, science and homework each week, so that I can make it to the blissfully peaceful weekends...

Man, I'm pooped today. so many stuff have happened...

Our school's really cracking down on discipline now, not that I'm complaining, I've had enough of the misbehaviour and disrespect running high since the start of school. Glad to see that people are taking this seriously. People may call me high-strung and no-fun, but I'd prefer that than looking like some person who's just got out of bed. Image counts you know. Tucking out your shirt is silly, unbuttoning the first button on the blouse because you feel 'hot' and you think its cool is just darn sillier. It just shows that you lack the most basic motor skill of buttoning your shirt.

No need to elaborate on dweebs who button ALL the way up. In this weather? Nuff' said.

My integration test is a lost cause, i think i'll only get marks for the differentiation proving part...aargh...

I sat for a full two hour E Math Paper 1...at least its not too bad. I can safely say I'll pass? Well, maybe I'm being a little too hopeful here...

I don't feel happy.

I don't want to leave the Bleach team.

But I fear that I cannot handle my studies and all the dance practice that will come. If I flunk my O Levels, my parents will ban me from cosplaying for ever. The least I can do is not to cosplay until my O Levels are over. This would at least let them see that I have tried my best and they might let me continue.

So it is with my deepest regret that I bow out of the Bleach team.

BUT!

I will still hang around the Bleach team outings people! And Renji, I may not be your taichou in the team, but I am still your taichou! >=3

First Week Of School

Bah, I expected full-blown homework flung in our faces, but instead we get two days of extra activities. Is that ironic or what?

Wednesday:

I came back to school, bit grouchy. You would be if you woke up at 5:30am with the alarm clock screaming in your ear.

Luckily the bad mood wore off when some of my close friends came into sight. Said hello to all of them, and we chatted about what we did over the holidays and such. Nothing seems to have changed much, that's good.

I had expected the Sec 4 classes to be at the fourth floor, but we got the third floor instead. Not that I'm complaining, that saves me a lot of legwork and its damn hot up there on the fourth floor. I pity the poor 4N and 4T classes...

The Sec 1s are tiny....whee...more juniors to bully...lawl, I'm evil I know, kekeke...

My teachers haven't changed, except that I've got Doctor Thuraisingam (Oh no) as my English teacher, Mdm Khaw (My form teacher) became my class' Math and CME teacher and my PE teacher has changed to Mr Seo. I've heard bad feedbacks on Mr Seo...oh no...

Mdm Khaw will be absent for two days because she has to go for a one-day surgery to remove a lump from her breasts, I do hope everything goes fine...(Please don't let it be a malignant lump...)

Thursday:

I went for a Social and Dining Etiquette course at New Park Hotel with my class, as well as 4E1...we rode a couple of chartered buses to the hotel, took about thirty minutes I think...

Whee...the talks were so interesting! We had two people talking to us, Christian Chua and Nick Tan! They were great man! Glad I had a front seat XD

Chris talked to us all about being a people magnet and how to be one...supposedly its all about making the right first impressions...dressing right and how to carry yourself in a confident manner.

A supposedly boring talk like that was turned out to be extremely interesting due to Chris cracking jokes left right and center, LMAO~ XD

Next up is Nick, who talked to us about the many utensils that Westerners use in a formal dinner. There're so many! Lucky I've read about them before and have some knowledge about the uses for each utensil.

Bread: Break the bread with your fingers into bite-sized pieces before buttering the bread.

Soup: Scoop the liquid away from you rather than towards you, reduces the chances of spillage onto yourself. Sip from the side of the spoon, more refined-looking.

Main Course: Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. It is perfectly fine to pile some potatoes or vegetables on the meat before eating it.

Lawl...there's just so many tips...

We had a chance to practice too. The hotel provided a five-course lunch for us! Yum yum. Here's the menu!

The Deathnote movie is real funny! L's mask! Wa kao! The directors sure know how to pull a freakingly funny joke man! And kudos to L's actor for managing to pull that scene off with a straight face!

But I didn't like the ending. Why did L have to die? T^T

Ah well, at least Raito died before L did. The ending is quite different from the manga...but its fine I suppose! ^____^

Late Post

EOY:

I woke up at 5:30am dammit, so damn sleepy...but still have to get up...

Had breakfast and then got started on my costume. This time my hair turned out fairly well, that's a plus.

I didn't paint any of my curse seals though, as I will be doing those at Sawa's house (Another reason is because i didn't want to get stared at too much on the MRT).

We met up with Revive at the MRT and went to Sawa's house. Most of my team members are there already, playing E___E

We got started on my seals immediately but had to stop about half an hour later as Byakugan had to go to Simei MRT to fetch my mother, who agreed to come help my team members and friends put on their makeup.

Hellpriestess' Sasori puppet is amazing! Damn, am I impressed. That's one dedicated cosplayer for you! I got another shock when i saw nisao, she did a completely unexpected version of Hidan! Wow...you guys are great!

Our Akatsuki team attracted a lot of attention, which i believe is because of the fact that we have the most up to date team so far...and the excellent costumes in our team. Well done everyone!

EOY was nice...(Ignoring the fact that I was sabohed to do yaoi shots)

The Long post

Hey, I'm back with another entry. It's been ages since I've last posted an entry and I apologise for that. I tend to find typing an entry a hassle and hence put it off for as long as I can.

So, here's an extra long entry on some more recent events.

On the 6th December 2006, I woke up at 6am to get prepared for the cosplay photoshoot at Chinese Garden. I must admit that I am not pleased with having to wake up so early to prepare for a cosplay event. But this is better than the past where I had to get up at unearthly hours such as 4:30am to prepare. No matter, this EOY shall be the last time I shall attempt to cosplay Curse Seal Sasuke, and then I shall move on to try other characters.

At 9:30am, i arrived at Chinese Garden MRT Station to see raymond, ShiNoDax and shuchi already waiting for us. We chatted amiably as I finished up the rest of my curse seals. Macross, Kaisers and Say Yun arrived soon after, but Kai, Sawatari, stjh, jkkh, guohao, midsummer, Tifa and Aeris were late to the point of arriving at 10:40am when the meeting time was supposed to be at 10am. I cannot deny that I was slightly annoyed at their lack of punctuality, but it would have been improper and damaging for me to tell them off.

Anyway, I'll provide a quick rundown on who's cosplaying who. I cosplayed as Curse Seal Sasuke, raymond did Rey za Burrel, Kaisers wore a yukata, midsummer did MisaMisa, stjh did Deidara, shuchi did Sakura, guohao did a random scary Shinigami, Kai did an even scarier random Shinigami and Sawatari did a high school girl with white hair. I'm not sure the names of the two characters Tifa and Aeris were cosplaying as...anyone reading this post please enlighten me of their names and I'll gladly take note of it.

We dumped our stuff in a pavilion near the Japanese Garden, and headed to the latter to take photos. There were lots of stones along a man-made stream which most of us stood on to pose on, some of us even went so far as to climb up trees for a few shots. We spent about three to four hours in this manner, until we decided to head back and take a break.

We 'dispatched' Byakugan, Kaisers and Say Yun to help us buy drinks from Cheers as we were 'dying' of thirst, and they had the audacity to take their time in their mission! *Whack*

I dismissed the outing temporarily for the cosplayers to change at Kai's house while I went home to change. There is no way we can eat and play in the arcade in our costumes can we? I arranged the meeting time to be at three o'clock but they were late by a long shot again...=_=

This time I didn't mind at all as I was also late myself. They went for lunch at KFC while I, Byakugan, Kaisers and Say Yun went to the Kopitiam foodcourt upstairs instead. It is much more affordable, filling and healthy to eat there instead of a fastfood restaurant.

We met up with them in the arcade soon after, stjh and jkkh were playing DDR, while midsummer was having a go at the ParaPara 1st Mix. I topped up a dollar in my TapZ card and also played ParaPara once. It was a little boring really. I prefer playing the 2nd ParaPara mix compared to the first.

Midsummer treated Byakugan and me to play Pop N Music 13 as we had no money left. After that, we watched Sawatari, guohao and stjh compete with each other in BishiBashi. guohao came out tops, stjh second and Sawatari last. The shocking thing was that Sawatari bit guohao's wrist so hard that it left a big red mark on his skin! Oh my...

I watched them play House of the Dead 4 as well as the Taiko Drum Master, in which I took over from Sawatari.

I left the outing soon after that at 5:30pm as I had a curfew, but I had fun!

The next day, on the 7th December 2006, I had to go for some prize-giving ceremony as one of the prize winners. Because of the formality of the event, I had to wear a SKIRT!

I detest wearing skirts, as wearing one restricts your movement and you have to watch how you stand or sit to prevent any embarrassing scenes.

Anyway, the ceremony took place in the evening, and I got 'Best Attendance for Secondary Three'. Its kind of ironic, an award just for being healthy? Bah, what a waste of time. At least the ice cream provided at the buffet dinner was some sort of consolation.

EOY is coming soon, and I worry for my team mates whose costumes aren't finished yet. Ganbatte minna! The countdown has already started to the 16th December 2006!

Sorry for not posting for so long! I shall relieve some significant events that happened...

21st October 2006 (Saturday):

Omg, the day started out bad man...I was LATE! Damn I hate being late...but I got over the bad mood fairly quickly when I got to Dhouby Ghaut MRT. Musn't act moody on my birthday right? I was excited to a certain point too. This being my first time celebrating my birthday with friends and all...

I saw Kaisers first! Then minosa came running over to glomp me XP stjh came soon after but jkkh was late. Lost of all reasons...rofl...

I got a nice handphone holder from Kaisers! Arigato! And a Sixth Division watch from stjh! Whoo! The battery was kinda faulty though, so I'm gonna have it looked at soon.

jkkh finally arrived, we introduced Kaisers and minosa to the rest and we trooped off to Plaza Singapura to buy movie tickets. But the cinema was still closed! Well duh, watcha expect at 9:30am?

We sorta camped in front of the cinema and joked around a lot. Buying tickets only at 10:30am...oo...one hour talking...

We played in the arcade as usual...to pass the time. jkkh lost to stjh in DDR as usual XP The point difference was big....

Bohe, hellpriestess, nisao and Sam joined us soon after that.

~~Movie Time~~

Our movie time slot was the earliest: 12:20pm. Five people bought tickets for the movie: Me, Byakugan, Kaisers, minosa and Bohe.

jkkh got me chocolate in a feeble attempt to make me sugar high...tough luck jkkh! It'll take more than that! >=D

The movie was fine overall. However, I can't still get over the fact that the movie script made out raito to have a girlfriend...O_O

Since when did Raito have a girlfriend?!

At least they kept the killing methods more or less the same...

The way Raito found the Death Note was also different...he found it in some dark alleyway instead of his school grounds...and Ryuk met Raito for the first time in the same alley instead of in his house...

Hey, but the ending was okay. At least they managed to portray Raito to become a person who would kill anyone just to attain his goals...he killed his girlfriend, Shiori, just so that he can have an excuse to join the Kira Investigation Team! Now that was surprising...I wasn't really expecting that...

Hurray for the movie! Hurry up with the second one! XD

Damn it! And my day had just started out nice too!

Okay, I shall calm down. All you flamers listen up!

ONE: It is true that it was my fault that I did not bind my chest.

Did you, over stituation ONE, ever pause to think twice before you actually flame somebody and cricitise their hours of hard work to tatters just because of one single flaw? How would YOU like it if somebody posted a flame directed at you in public for all to see?

Is it so fun for you to flame people? Do you have nothing better to do? Can't you take flaws in your stride? Don't you have an ounce of empathy to put yourself in the shoes of the person you are about to flame? Are you THAT narrow-minded?

For one, it would have been better if you had just made a passing comment that I should bind. And not keep on nitpicking the same old flaw again and again and again and again until the nitpicked person is so pissed that you make another enemy in this world in just a day.

Would you find it thrilling to make enemies out of every cosplayer whom you find flaws with? Would you have liked someone to cricitise your costume, made out of hours of research and hard work, and insult you constantly, picking on the same old wound over and over, until you simply cannot stand it anymore?

For all questions raised above, I answer NO.

I do not flame anyone for the sake of it. I find that it is a waste of time and an injury to the other party's pride and self-esteem when I flame. Flaws exist to be improved on. If you find a flaw, just smile and suggest ways to improve on it. Not sneer and start telling everyone that the particular cosplayer is lousy and such.

Such people are cowards. Damn shitty cowards who don't even have the courage to walk up to the cosplayer and point out the flaws in the costume. Damn cowards who only know how to scrutinise for any possible flaw and harp on them as much as possible.

I do not like to make enemies. I believe every human baing can be a friend with the proper communication. However, I do know that there are circumstances in which people can never warm up to each other due to the lack of understanding.

Please. Whenever you are going to flame somebody, please pause for a second before you hit the keyboard and put yourself in the person's shoes for a minute. How would you like it if you were the one flamed?

I admit that this event, it was my fault that I neglected to bind my chest. But you did not have to keep on harping on it until I flare up or break down. For one, my temper is safely under control, and my mentality is not that weak to cry over petty things like this.

Thanks to the moderators or administrators for locking the thread up. There is no need for more shame to be dished out ruthlessly like what you were doing.

You know who you are. And I'm here to remind you of it.

It came to me as a shock when sapphire-neechan told me it was hard to find Groove Adventure Rave fans in Singapore...

It was replayed on AXN for so many times that I watched the whole series for three times! =_=
